God, I Want to See the Lion
by Mary Margaret | Feb 24, 2019 | Religion & Spirituality | 4 |
While spending some time with my granddaughter she noticed the screensaver on my phone and wanted to know about the lion, lamb and dove. I took a few minutes to explain them to her and then we happened into a church where I told here when she prayed she could ask for anything. Boy was I surprised by her request of God and absolutely shocked when it was answered a moment or so later!

Every once in a while I wonder if God hears my prayers, sees my frustrations, understands my fear, or if he even knows I exist. I try to stay positive and do the “self-talk”, meditation, and relaxation techniques that are so frequently suggested. Most of the time it only leads me to more questions, more frustration, and a whole lot less serenity. Today as I was evaluating these thoughts it dawned on me….God moves constantly and often times we are so busy and self-absorbed that we do not even notice it.

The Lord made sure this bride got the wedding dress that was perfect for her even though she couldn’t afford it. Coincidence? Not as far as I’m concerned! Proof our Father can handle anything in his mysterious ways.

I saw something gold around the priest; it appeared like as a cloud of some sort. At the same time “energy currents” or colors were crisscrossing through the audience. I shifted my position, moved my head to a different angle, squinted my eyes a couple of times. The gold cloud remained around the priest and the energy kept moving.

How do dreams work? I do not know and I am certainly not an expert of “dreamology”. However, I learned at that moment that dreams can certainly bring us God shots. The Bible contains many scriptures regarding dreams. One of my favorites is regarding Joseph when “An angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, Get up! Take the Child and His mother and flee to Egypt, and remain there until I tell you…” (Matthew 2:13)
Have you ever had a dream that brought you guidance? Hope? Inspiration? Instruction? If you have I would love to hear about it. I hope that you will take the time and share and help open a dialog around the world!

It was a cold day in February of 2015. The dark, dreary, cold type of day that is not uncommon in the Eastern United states during February. My 55 year old neighbor, who was also a prayer partner with me, was in the throes of cancer treatment. She had been diagnosed with breast cancer in the later months of 2014 and had been undergoing chemotherapy and radiation treatments. Her physical well being, coupled with the time of year had basically left her home bound much of the time.
