god gives breath of fresh airAs a practitioner the following God Shot is quite amazing to me.  In all of my years of practice I have never seen “a lung charm” so this event was quite amazing. I had taken a quick trip to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to do some work on the condominium there.

It was Tuesday, January 8th, 2019 and I decided to go to Mass at 8:00 AM that morning.  I love going to Mass in the mornings as it allows me time to be in solitude prior to starting work and the business of the day.  I believe it is in those times of solitude and quiet where my high power can speak to me.  That particular morning the object of my thoughts and prayers was my best friend of 38 years, Cindy.  She had been diagnosed with Stage IV lung cancer the Sunday before Christmas.  I sat quietly and thought about her, her family, this diagnosis, and how I could help.

After mass I wandered into the gift shop in the front on the church.  Interestingly, I had never noticed that there was a gift shop in this church and amazingly it was open at 8:30 AM that morning. Two very pleasant women looked at me and said “can we help you”.  I just looked at them and began to tell them my story through tears. I wasn’t sure what I wanted but I knew I wanted something for my friend who recently received this horrendous diagnosis.  As we looked around the small store together it dawned on me that I wanted the “St. Peregrine medal”.  (For those of you who do not know St. Peregrine, is the Patron Saint of Cancer). Low and behold they had one in the store and it was for a female.

I told the woman that I would take it.  She responded by saying that I needed to take something else.  I told her immediately “absolutely, just show me what to get and I will buy it”.  She looked at me and said “No, you can’t buy it, but I want to give it to you.  I am a respiratory therapist and I have a set lungs at home in my jewelry box and I want your friend to have them.”  As a practitioner I have only seen either real lungs or models so I really could not picture what this woman had in her jewelry box.

We met the next morning and that is when the GOD SHOT happened. Sure enough she brought me the most beautiful set of silver “lungs” for my friend, pictured above.  She said “you take these and give them to your friend; she is getting new lungs”. I was in awe!  I looked at this woman with tears and stammered out a “thank you”.  I told her I would bring them back and she simply said “no, your friend will need to pass them on when she is feeling better”.

Interesting when I returned home and shared this story with my friend she was filled with hope. When she placed the lungs on the chain with St. Peregrine it flipped a certain way looks like an angel.  (The Saint medallion with wings!)  “When doubts fill my mind and my heart is in turmoil, Quiet me and give me a renewed hope and strength”. (Psalms 94:19). I believe my friend was granted that renewed hope from the kindness of a stranger sending “new lungs”.

Please let me know if you have had any similar experiences when struggling.  Maybe you’re the friend and understand the pain you share with your “person”.  I look forward to hearing from you…please put your comments below.   Namaste!
